Frankfort Steering Committee Members

Karen Cantrell serves as co-leader, co-regional coordinator in memory of her son, Jacob Hutcheson. Jacob died at age 16 and shortly afterwards Karen worked with 5 other families to form the Frankfort chapter of The Compassionate Friends. Karen has since served a three year term on the national board of directors, attended 4 national conferences, conducted workshops and has published several writings. Karen has a great desire to give back to the organization that helped her and her family survive and learn to cope after Jacob's death.

Joe & Patti Hyman are the parents of Aryn Jo who was silently born (stillborn) October 10, 1988. Joe and Patti have been active participants during monthly meetings and other chapter activities. They serve on the Steering Committee and also assist in Outreach. Their focus is to keep Aryn’s memory alive and assist others who walk the same path they do.

Ashley Wainscott Fannin serves the Steering committee as Outreach. Ashley joined The Compassionate Friends after the death of her sister, Amanda Rose Wainscott in 2006. Unfortunately, she is now a bereaved mother after losing her son, Cullen Holt Fannin, in November 2011. Ashley's main goals are to make sure the world remembers Amanda Rose Wainscott and knows that Cullen Holt Fannin was here, if only for an hour and 25 minutes. Ashley has a natural eagerness to help anyone in need when she can and believes very deeply in the creed of the Compassionate Friends. "We need not walk alone...."

Kathy Wainscott is the co-leader and secretary for our chapter. She joined shortly after the death of her daughter, Amanda Rose Wainscott in May 2006 just days before her 21st birthday. She is an advocate for suicide prevention and awareness because of the loss of her daughter and a niece. She is also a bereaved grandmother after losing a grandson in November 2011. She believes when she helps ease the strain of the grieving process on 1 family, it helps ease her own grief and cherishes her daughter, grandson, & nieces' memory.
